Covid-19 Information and Updates - Updated 29 September

To reduce the number of face-to-face interactions with the community and protect our staff and their ability to carry out ongoing essential services, the Derwent Valley Council Offices will reopen to the public from 10am - 4pm from Monday 24 August for essential visits only.

Council operating hours are still 8.15am – 5pm (Mon - Fri) and Council services can be accessed over the phone, by email or via our website. We encourage all enquiries by phone or email where possible.

Cemeteries and Ordering Plaques

Derwent Valley Council is responsible for the ordering of all plaques and niche plates in the Derwent Valley municipality.

Cemeteries in the Derwent Valley municipality include:

  • Malbina Cemetery
  • North Circle Cemetery
  • Red Hills Cemetery
  • Tyenna Cemetery

Ordering of Plaques

Plaques are ordered from the Derwent Valley Council located at Circle Street New Norfolk, or please contact us on 6261 8500 for further information.

Customer Service staff will guide you through the process of ordering a plaque either in person or if requested, we will gladly post all appropriate information to you.

Prices of plaques and niches vary depending on individual requests and it should be noted that when the order has been placed it takes up to 6 to 8 weeks before being completed.

When erecting a monument, approval is required by Council for the installation of a monument.
