Council-led projects 2026/27
Glenora Road - 4 Year Program
Through funding from the State Government, Council will continue rehabilitation works on Glenora Road to address sight distance, drainage issues and improve road surfacing.
The project will include improvements to the road pavement and seal, as well as crash barrier and other safety improvements. Works are continuing and will be carried out with funding from the State Government.
Sorell Creek & Glen Dhu Flood Resilience Plan - Works Continue
Works continue on the multi-year implementation of the Flood Resilience Plan in partnership with Derwent Catchment. Funding through the Disaster Ready Fund will help address willow infestations, undertake erosion control, educate property owners about flood plans and mitigation, and revegetate and improve infrastructure within the catchment.
Douglas Road Bridge
Upgrading the existing timber bridge in accordance with Council’s prioritised infrastructure upgrades, as identified through the Annual Bridge Report.
Plenty Valley Link
Construction of a new mass-block retaining wall to restore the width and function of the road following a landslip event in 2024.
Lawitta Stormwater Upgrade
Installation of new stormwater pipes to improve the capacity of Council’s stormwater system and reduce flooding.
New Norfolk Swimming Pool Upgrades
Upgrades to the facilities at the New Norfolk Swimming Pool are currently being scoped, with works to be determined following the completion of the planning and assessment process.
Playgrounds
Playground equipment is planned to be installed at the New Norfolk Sports Centre, 50 Derwent Terrace. With further playground upgrades currently being scoped for other areas.
Peppermint Hill Leachate Pond 2 Rehabilitation
Works to rehabilitate the existing Peppermint Hill Leachate Pond 2, including the removal of the damaged existing lining and contaminated or unsuitable underlying material, installation of a new geomembrane liner, and construction of outlet works, including a new spillway.

Scoping of works for roof repairs, facilities & precinct upgrades.
