Opportunities and Support

Aged Care face-to-face services

Are you planning for aged care or helping a family member or loved one with their aged care needs?

ServicesAustralia and healthgovau‘s My Aged Care have new face-to-face services to help you better understand your aged care options.

At all Services Australia service centres, you can get general information about aged care services and help connecting to My Aged Care’s online and phone channels.

In selected sites, a dedicated Aged Care Specialist Officer can give you more personalised support. They can give you in-depth information about your aged care options and refer you for a My Aged Care assessment if you’re eligible. They’ll also link you to a range of other support services.

To find out more information about these services, go to: servicesaustralia.gov.au/myagedcarefacetoface

Grassroots Governance Program

The Tasmanian Community Fund has a new program to strengthen the governance capability and confidence of volunteers in community organisations. The state-wide series of governance workshops delivered by Latrobe-based Alkas Consulting aims to build knowledge and give people the confidence to take on and stay in volunteer roles.

This opportunity is in response to the experience of many organisations having difficulty recruiting volunteers and ensuring that existing and new volunteers have the knowledge and skills to take on the roles required to keep organisations and initiatives running - in rural and regional areas especially.

Workshops are scheduled throughout the year. Booking and event details are posted on the Grassroots Community Governance Tasmania facebook page.
