Ideally located adjacent to the Derwent River with the open space and ambience of the Esplanade parkland. A shared walking and cycling track leads to the award-winning Tynwald Park via the wetland. All this makes the pool suitable for all types of competition and other activities.

This 55-yard (50.3m), six-lane pool was officially opened on 22 December 1963 with a young Dawn Fraser swimming a lap of honour.
