Derwent Valley Council will hold a community meeting to provide information and discuss the future of the Bushy Park War Memorial Swimming Pool.
This meeting will give community members an opportunity to:

Bushy Park Community Meeting Report
Derwent Valley Council has released the independent facilitator's report from the Bushy Park War Memorial Pool Community Meeting held on 1 June 2026.
The meeting, attended by more than 50 community members, provided an opportunity for Council and residents to have an open and honest discussion about the future of the Bushy Park War Memorial Pool site, the significance of the war memorial, and broader community priorities for the Upper Derwent Valley.
The report, prepared by independent facilitator Michael Stedman of Timmins Ray Public Relations, captures the key themes, concerns and aspirations raised by the community during the meeting, as well as the commitments made by Council in response.
Key themes discussed included:
- The future of the Bushy Park War Memorial Pool and potential alternative options.
- Preservation and ongoing access to the war memorial site.
- Council accountability and decision-making.
- Infrastructure needs across the Upper Derwent Valley.
