TINY HOMES IN THE DERWENT VALLEY
Council receives many enquiries from people wishing to place “tiny homes” on their property.
A “tiny home” is a smaller sized dwelling that can either be permanently attached to the land or on wheels so they can be moved to different locations. Examples include tiny homes, caravans, and temporary accommodation.
The approval process for a tiny home will depend on whether the home is to be a permanent structure, or if the home will be temporary (i.e. a structure on wheels that is capable of being registered as a vehicle by the Tasmanian Motor Vehicle Registry, such as a caravan or trailer).
