CoVID-19

For updated information and advice related to COVID-19 go to  https://coronavirus.tas.gov.au

The health and safety of our community and staff is a priority as we plan and respond to the rapidly changing Coronavirus pandemic.

Council have put a number of measures in place to ensure continuity of services and protect staff from infection. This includes identifying where staff can work from home and separating key staff and those who perform the same duties so we have a back up in case of infection.

We have also made changes to the a number of our services.

Council Services

To reduce the number of face-to-face interactions with the community and protect our staff and their ability to carry out ongoing essential services, the Derwent Valley Council Offices are now closed to the public until fiurther notice.

Please be assured we are closing our doors only, not our services.

- If you have a service request, you can call us on 6261 8500, or email dvcouncil@dvc.tas.gov.au
- You can pay your rates via BPAY, over the phone or complete the deposit slip on your rates notice and drop into the mail slot with your cash or cheque for payment.
- You can view Development Applications on our website
- The Peppermint Hill Tip is still open for now, but the Tip Shop is closed.
- The Valley Children’s Centre are still open and providing care to your children if you need to work.

So, even though our doors are closing for now, there are still plenty of ways we will continue to serve our community.

Parks, Reserves and Playgrounds
Council has temporarily closed all parks, reserves and public playgrounds until further notice. This decision follows the Prime Minister's announcement on the closure of indoor and outdoor play centres. The playgrounds have been sign posted advising of these closures. We ask for parental assistance in ensuring these closures are adhered to.

Stay inside, stay safe.

Community Services and Organisations and Planned Events
Access to planned events and services in the Derwent Valley is changing quickly due to COVID-19 and the restrictions being put in place by the Federal Government.
