Quick Response Grants
Quick Response Grants assist individuals or groups up to the value of $500.00 for one-off activities or projects that directly benefit the community, where timing or criteria of the Community Grants Program do not apply.
Representation Grants
Assistance for Persons Representing the Derwent Valley/Tasmania/Australia Grants are for individuals or groups of the Derwent Municipality representing within or for Tasmania in national or international events of amateur status.
- $200.00 is available for Intrastate Representation.
- $300.00 is available for Interstate Representation.
- $500.00 is available for Overseas Representation.
Applications
Applications to both these grants can be made at any time throughout the year and are awarded until the budget allocation is spent. There is a limit of one application per individual per financial year.
A Council Officer assesses applications for eligibility and merit before they are examined jointly by the Mayor and General Manager for final approval. There are no acquittal requirements. See full details in Council’s Community Grants Policy.

Supporting Local Schools
Derwent Valley Council is proud to support local schools and students through contributing to their end of year assemblies or prize ceremonies. An annual donation of $100 is given to the following schools:
