Covid-19 Information and Updates - Updated 29 September

To reduce the number of face-to-face interactions with the community and protect our staff and their ability to carry out ongoing essential services, the Derwent Valley Council Offices will reopen to the public from 10am - 4pm from Monday 24 August for essential visits only.

Council operating hours are still 8.15am – 5pm (Mon - Fri) and Council services can be accessed over the phone, by email or via our website. We encourage all enquiries by phone or email where possible.

Council Agenda and Minutes

Meetings will be held in accordance with the Minister's Order made pursuant to section 18 of the COVID-19 Disease Emergency (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2020, by telephone or other electronic means for which an electronic recording of the meeting will be available for viewing by members of the public as far as reasonably practicable contemporaneously at Council's website.  Where not reasonably practicable an electronic recording of the meeting will be made available in accordance with Council’s Audio Recording Policy.

The Council Administration Offices is closed to the public from 27 March 2020 until the Coronavirus pandemic situation improves.  

In accordance with the Local Government (Meeting Procedures) Regulations 2015, Division 4, 31, 1.  Members of the public may give written notice to the General Manager at least 7 days before any ordinary Council meeting of a question to be asked at that meeting.

Ordinary meetings of Council are held on the third Thursday of each month unless noted otherwise.  Meetings are held at the Court House, Circle Street, New Norfolk, commencing at 6.00pm unless noted otherwise. Agendas are available at the Council office on the Friday prior to the date of the meeting.

The Council adopted an Audio Recording Policy to record the open meetings of Council (as at December 2017).  These recordings will be maintained on file for a period of twelve months from the date of the meeting.

Please note that the minutes of the previous months Council meeting will not be uploaded to our web page until they have been confirmed at the next meeting of Council.
