Community Grants often provide a much-needed boost to launch worthwhile community projects or activities. Whatever the contribution, grant providers are needed to get projects up and running. Arts and cultural events, community health and development initiatives, sporting and youth activities all provide enormous benefits to the community. The input from Council is often crucial to ensure the enthusiasm and commitment from local communities continues.

Non-profit making sporting, cultural and community groups within the Derwent Valley Municipality are eligible to apply for assistance in cash and kind under this programme.  Applications must be on the form provided by Council and will be considered on merit.  Applicants will not necessarily receive assistance.

Council will give preference to groups which have broad community benefit.  It is anticipated that most applications will be in the range of $200 to $500. Applications in excess of $1,000 may be required to provide a business plan or like document in support of their project.
