Derwent Valley Youth Future Action Team (D'FAT)

D’FAT is the youth advisory group for the Derwent Valley Council, who meets on a monthly basis (Wednesday) at 7.00pm. The group advises Council on youth issues, concerns and develops activities and projects for young people.

Membership is free and is open to young people (12-25 years) throughout the Derwent Valley Municipality.  

Derwent Valley RAFT (Real Action .... Forward Thinking)

Derwent Valley RAFT is an over-arching supporting body initiated and convened by Council to assist with coordinated delivery of youth programs in the Derwent Valley. RAFT convenes networking opportunities and information sharing for youth service providers and stakeholders through the operation of regular RAFT Forum meetings. Outcomes of these forums include the development of an online calendar of programs, a Derwent Valley Learning Precinct and Community2Sea program.

Other outcomes include obtaining membership of the unique Tasmanian initiative 26TEN and engaging a 26TEN Awareness Officer to raise awareness and map education and learning opportunities in the Derwent Valley.

The New Norfolk Inter-agency Support Team (NNIAST)

NNIASTs are an initiative of Tasmanian Police with the aim to case-manage young people (5-17 years) and their families with multiple and complex problems.
